Charity of the Month is where we feature a charity or cause that you might be interested in helping in celebrating your birthday, holiday or other special occasion. In addition to the monetary donations we know every charity needs and appreciates, The Birthday Project is especially interested in finding other ways to help worthy causes, including volunteer opportunities and in-kind donations (supplies/items).

Milk + Bookies combines two essential and worthwhile efforts: literacy promotion and service learning. By encouraging children to share their love of books with others, this 501(c)(3) non-profit organization is teaching kids at a young age the impact they can have on the world around them while promoting literacy in areas that might not have access to much needed resources. Milk + Bookies will assist in locating charities/organizations in your area in need of book donations and offer supplies like book plates, stickers, bookmarks and party goods.
HOW YOU CAN HELP: This year, in lieu of gifts, ask guests to bring books to your child's birthday party.
Have fun with a book-themed party where party guests can make bookmarks, create their own books, listen to a story read by a special guest and of course, enjoy some milk and cookies (or have let them make their own!)
